Deweys; snippets of the week

The sky after class at unsw; it's such a beautiful greeting after a long day

This is wonderful Belinda Flogel,
a true blue Northen Beaches girl, and most of all
she knows how to love life :)

Dr Tom Loveday; I'm so thankful for this lecturer and his love for sincere architecture,
I'm very inspired by his thrive to make the world a better place

Once in a blue moon home made hot pot,
I think the secret for this dish is fresh ingredients :)

Thanks for reading, it's been a long and fun week..,
I often wonder what you're all up to..
I could sit all day, sipping a cup of tea
and listen to all your wonderful adventures.
I do hope you're doing well and
may you somehow experience the love of God this week..

Dewey Discovery; bag of goodies

I found this form at home, I think it looks like something from the film Schindler's List...
because it's made of yellow card and typed in Polish :)

-----------------------------------------------

This is my bag of goodies a friend's father gave me from
his very own garden a few days ago hehe
He lives in a cosy home with photo frames and paintings covering the walls,
the spaces aren't sharply designed but each corner tells a story of the family..
He handmade his verandah providing a warm addition to the existing home..
In the backyard he grows all sorts of things such as pumpkins,
coffee beans, mandarins and bananas...
I was in awe of the small creations that seemed
to differentiate the meaning of a 'house' to a 'home'..

Bag of goodies :)

Mini Banana (very delicious)

Large pumpkin (we will make soup!) and coffee beans on the left

Dried (not yet roasted) coffee beans :D

One day, when I have a family of my own...
I also hope I can create a home for them hehe

Hope you don't forget to smell the roses
and have a delightful week my dearests :)

Youtube Tuesday

What a sight.. Would love to see this in person :)

Youtube Tuesday

This is very clever design, I guess the appearance isn't flashy
but the architect really adapted to his environment and created a wonderful habitat :)

What a beautiful house, I'm not sure if I'd personally live in it...
but its clever use of views and clean cut edges creates quite intimate and poetic spaces

this person has some valid points concerning technology,
maybe too much technology is not good for humankind.. :P

Hehe would love to live in one of these houses...
eating watermelons in the summer and roasted sweet potatoes in the winter

Dearests, thanks for reading
I hope you have a blessed week!

Dewey Declaration; This is what I really want to do...

All I really want to do is be with you
All I really want to do is love you

The world may call me crazy,
but I don't want to care about what others think about me anymore
The world may call me delusional,
but I don't want to live another day believing lies anymore
The world may call me foolish,
but I don't want to miss out on your love anymore

All I really want to do is be with you
All I really want to do is love you

That's what I really want to do
That's all I really want to do

Dewey Discovery!

Hehe..

Have a lovely weekend everyone and
I shall part you with a quote a friend once told me...

Oscar Wilde said, "Each man kills the thing he loves." And it's true. The mere possibility of getting what we want fills the soul of the ordinary person with guilt. We look around at all those who have failed to get what they want and feel that we do not deserve to get what we want either. We forget about all the obstacles we overcame, all the suffering we endured, all the things we had to give up in order to get this far. I have known a lot of people who, when their personal calling was within their grasp, went on to commit a series of stupid mistakes and never reached their goal when it was only a step away. This is the most dangerous of the obstacles because it has a kind of saintly aura about it: Renouncing joy and conquest. But if you believe yourself worthy of the thing you fought so hard to get, then you become an instrument of God, you help the soul of the world and you understand why you are here.

Youtube Tuesday

What a fun escalator ride :)

"Captain, my captain..."
I love this scene...

Theo Jansen, a wonderful kinetic sculptor

My dearests, hope you have a lovely week
and don't forget to love livin' life hehe :)

Dewey Discovery; Utzon's window frame

Guess where this is? :)

Utzon's ingenious-ness can also be experienced from the inside of the Sydney Opera House.
The window acts like a lookout, framing a view of the Harbour Bridge...
which almost creates a live painting

Walking and walking some more...

So, for some grad projest research.. I visited the Biennale at Cockatoo Island today,
and simply walked all day long... How wonderful it is to just walk and walk..and walk
Below are a few of my favourtie dewey moments, hope you enjoy :)

It would've been nice to see these on the Opera House Steps..
but alas, it's still a wonderfully constructed contemporary artwork.
It's just made out of one material but somehow it makes the viewer want to touch and interact with it :)

How cute is the layered sandstone background?

A couple finding their own little sanctuary... hope I didn't disturb them..

Loved this one :)
The artist simply installed a curtain that had imprints of a tropical forest,
yet it changed the feeling of this interior and almost
liberated it from its industrial surroundings..

Hope you all have a lovely weekend
and experience Blessed deweys :)
