Unveiling Deweys in Excessivity (if that's a word)

Hello Dear Deweyers :)
It's the start of another week, how time seems to pass so quickly!
Hope the start of your week was as smooth and swift like an hang glider :)

As an amateur designer I think I've discovered that simple design
is the safest way to go and that 'less is more'.
However when excessive and over-the-top decoration is done 'well',
it can look a lot better than an adequately designed space.
Here is a beautiful example, the interiors of the Versailles palace in France.

the mirror room decorated ever so lavishly

the mural on the ceiling also deeply ornamented

bright colours to satisfy the eye

feathery decorations again hot pink walls!

beautifully lit chandeliers

gold plated doors, herringbone pattered wooden floors
and marble walls

They are such beautifully decorated lavish spaces...
I believe it symbolises the epitome of excessive luxury living.
I wonder if they were happy living in this palace...

As for me, I think a small cottage with a wild garden will do :)
Hope you have a lovely week dearests
